Parañaque Rep. Roilo Golez said the $10-billion offer made by Ang “merits consideration.”
“This could be the mother of all mega deals and would really prop up the government’s economic development program. It would wipe out the budgetary deficit with more to spare,” he said.
Golez said even if Pagcor is sold, the government would have residual income from it like taxes.
“Finally, it would remove the government from direct gambling operations and eliminate unsavory implications of government being in the gambling business,” he added.
