Serge: 'JSS' can solve PNoy 'crisis of credibility'

MANILA - Senator Sergio Osmeña III has one solution to what he called President Benigno Aquino III's "crisis of credibility" following the January 25 bloodbath in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
"JSS," he said. "Just say sorry."
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the Aquino ally reiterated his advice for the President, who has drawn flak for the operation that targeted two terrorists but ended in the death of 44 Special Action Force (SAF) commandos.
Aquino has been criticized for entrusting the operation to then suspended police chief Alan Purisima. Purisima resigned following the operation.
In a recent speech, Aquino blamed former SAF commander Getulio Napeñas for the operation's bloody end, but Osmeña believes the President must ultimately take responsibility.
"I think the vast majority of our country believes he made a mistake. Kaya sinabi kong just say sorry, at hindi ako nagbibiro niyan (That's why I said he should just say sorry, and I'm not joking)," Osmeña said.
"He's in a crisis of credibility."
Osmeña said apologizing for the Mamasapano incident can help the President get out of the crisis, noting that Filipinos are a forgiving people.
"What can we do? We have to accept his apology," he said.
