US pushing for military confrontation with China

Mike Billington warns that "the American population is sleepwalking into World War III."

The United States is pushing for a military confrontation with China, as Washington continues with its joint army drills with countries around China, says an American activist and journalist.

“Now we have Obama pushing for a very near term military confrontation with China,” Mike Billington, the Asia editor for the Executive Intelligence Review, told Press TV on Saturday.

“The American population is sleepwalking into World War III. It’s a moment of great danger,” he added.

The US will launch an eleven-day joint military drill, called Balikatan, with the Philippines near South China Sea on Monday.

Thousands of US and Philippine soldiers are set to take part in the exercises with at least 55 American aircraft, according to Balikatan spokesman Captain Celeste Frank Sayson. Philippines will also deploy fighter jets it has recently acquired.

Billington further said the joint military drill goes on every year, but the difference this year is that the government in the Philippines has got an approval to “ignore the constitutional restraint on foreign bases on its soil.”

The Philippines is holding the drill as it is preparing to host US troops in at least five military bases, including one facing disputed islands in the South China Sea, under an agreement with Washington.

The 10-year military pact was signed by the US and the Philippine government in Manila in 2014, but was approved by the Philippine Supreme Court in January this year.

According to Billington, “one of these bases is right in the middle of the South China Sea.”

The US has long been trying to increase its influence in the Asia-Pacific region to step up surveillance over China. Its military warships have sailed within some nautical miles off China's artificial islands several times. Advanced US spy planes have also been deployed to airbases in the neighboring countries.

China, which claims sovereignty over nearly all of the South China Sea, has been building artificial islands in disputed parts of the sea.

The US accuses Beijing of carrying out what it calls a land reclamation program in the South China Sea by building the islands in the disputed areas. Beijing, however, accuses Washington of meddling in the regional issues and deliberately stoking tensions in the South China Sea.

A war with China this is what the US needs, but this time that war comes to the US soil and the US can not avoid this.
That can change the cards in future wars.

There has to be a solid opposition to USA war plans in the world.

Where ever they are instigating the war and bringing in their ammunition they need to be hold accountable from the very destruction of life, property and also the pollution it creates and leaves back for years to come. They need to be hold responsible and accountable for each and everything they destroy and have destroyed.

Let the USA people pay to all those countries which have been destroyed by them.

The US wants war with China. How delusional can they get. War with China immediately sees the us fighting on three fronts.

The first move against China automatically brings into action the strategic alliance between China and Russia.
Iran will also join such an alliance which will close the straits of Hormous, after which they would lay waste to the Saudi oil and gas fields.

Iran may not have nuclear weapons but Pakistan does, and would joyfully send them to Israel as would Nth Korea.

The European member nations of NATO almost all rely on Russian natural gas for energy needs so they will not back the USA.
With Israel gone what have the Zionist bankers got to fight for.

You have analyzed this perfectly. One has to wonder why the US and NATO are pursuing this course. What do they achieve. They must be led by a bunch of brain dead individuals who are confusing their ability to capability.
