This is the Threat and Risk Landscape faced by a private Telco. Telcos are targets of various state and non-state entities. Telcos must provide safeguards against cyber attacks to protect their clients and customers like you and me and sensitive government agencies like Malacanang, PMS, DND, AFP, NSC, DILG, NBI, PDEA, BSP, etc and private companies vulnerable to industrial espionage.

Threat Intelligence Aspects

"The players within the telecommunication cyber arena are governments (NSA, FBI (USA), Mossad(IL), China) well founded hacktivists (Launch mostly DDOs attacks) and many other attackers who targeted one of millions of clients purchasing their services using the telecom company. They will hack the telecommunication provider in order to damage that specific client which means – more clients more attacks.

We all want our Telcos to be cybersecurity alert and conscious, to guard against the aforementioned cyber attackers, one of them China. With China Telco, there is reasonable fear that the China Telco is subject to Chinese government control and therefore the China cybersecurity threat and facilities are built into the China Telco system.
