Repeat, we'll defend Japan over China: US

THE US has reaffirmed it will defend Japan against Chinese attack, in a statement criticising Beijing's "destabilising" move to impose an air defence identification zone around disputed islands in the East China Sea.
China sent tensions soaring at the weekend when it announced it had imposed the zone over a wide area between South Korea and Taiwan, including the Senkaku/Diaoyu islands.
