Church leaders call for PNoy's resignation

CEBU - Church leaders in Cebu are calling for the resignation of President Aquino.
The group called the National Transformation Council said the President had lost the moral ascendancy to lead the nation.
The group was led by Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal who alleged the President had violated the Constitution by corrupting Congress, intimidating the judiciary, taking over the Treasury, and perverting the impeachment process.
The group said once the President resigns, an alternative government consisting of men and women of integrity must be organized to avoid a political vacuum.
The Catholic bishops were also joined by members of civil society,
The group also calls for the immediate filing of criminal cases against all lawmakers involved in the pork barrel scandal and the disbursement acceleration program.
Members of President Aquino's Liberal Party wrested control of several elective posts in Cebu province during the 2013 elections.
Among the LP members who won in 2013 are Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III, Cebu Vice-Governor Agnes Magpale, Cebu 2nd District Rep. Wilfredo Caminero, Cebu 5th District Rep. Joseph Ace Durano, Cebu 6th District Rep. Gabriel Luis Quisumbing, Cebu City 1st District Re. Raul del Mar, Cebu City 2nd District Rep. Tomas Osmena, Talisay City Mayor Johnny delos Reyes, Alegria Mayor Verna Magallon, Argao Mayor Edsel Galeos, Samboan Mayor Raymond Joseph Calderon, Santander Mayor Marilyn Wenceslao, Barili Mayor Teresito Marinas, Bogo City Mayor Celestino Martinez Jr, Daanbantayan Mayor Augusto Corro, San Remigio Mayor Mariano Martinez, Santa Fe Mayor Jong Jong Ilustrisimo, Danao City Mayor Ramon Durano III, Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado, and Cordova Mayor Adelino Sitoy.
