MARTSA PARA SA KALAYAAN TO HOLD RALLY AGAINST CHINA
Former congressman Roilo Golez announced today that his Di Ka Pasisiil Movement will be joining the multisectoral Martsa Para sa Kalayaan rally on June 12, Independence Day in front of the Chinese Consulate in Makati to protest China’s illegal reclamations in the West Philippine Sea and other parts of the South China Sea in violation of the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone and international law.
Roilo Golez is one of the leading civil society advocates opposing China’s incursions that started with the illegal grabbing of Mischief Reef and later Scarborough Shoal inside the country’s Exclusive Economic Zone.
The march will be led by young professionals called Martsa Para Sa Kalayaan Network headed by youth leader Eufemio Agbayani III who also led the very successful march last year. Other groups who will join are the Paranaque Riders Club, ARMAS Riders, Filipino Patriotic Solidarity Movement, United Filipino Seafarers, HOPE Inc., some members of UP Vanguard ROTC, ROTC Philippines and retired AFP generals.
The rally will start at 1030am, June 12, Friday in front of the Chinese Consulate in Gil Puyat Avenue, Makati across the street from Mapua Institute of Technology (Makati Campus).
