The Philippines should be friends to all, must forge new friendships especially with rising China, but without sacrificing old, battle tested friendships and alliances, and most important of all, without sacrificing and compromising our Exclusive Economic Zone and our West Philippines Sea, 90% of which China very sadly is claiming and wants to seize.

China, Philippines: Countries Agree To 30 Projects Worth $3.7 Billion
China and the Philippines have agreed to work together on 30 projects on poverty reduction worth $3.7 billion, representatives from both countries said following a Jan. 23 meeting, Reuters reported. Details about the agreements, which come during a two-day visit by a Cabinet delegation from the Philippines to China, have yet to be released. Under the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte, Manila has looked to ease its tense relations with Beijing to secure economic concessions while seeking a more balanced relationship with Washington.
