In Benham Rise, we should argue for and defend the national interest and not do anything to prejudice our claim

In Benham Rise, we should argue for and defend the national interest and not do anything to prejudice our claim: I urge legal luminaries and advocates, to be cautious in publicly presenting their legal and technical arguments and avoid discussing points that other countries can use to justify fishing in the area or surveying in the area or to delimit our territorial claim.

They must realize that every country in the vicinity is a potential counter claimant or would like to partake of the natural resources in Benham Rise to our detriment and of course we should be prepared to oppose them legally and/or with the use of our maritime law enforcement facilities.

Some over brilliant personalities may be inadvertently providing legal arguments that could be used against the Philippines.

No Filipino should publicly question our territorial claim. They should be lawyering for the Philippines and not providing arguments which an opposing country or countries can later use against us.

To the lawyers: If you are the lawyer of a certain person or corporation in a dispute, do you publicly discuss arguments that could benefit the other side? Of course not!

It's the same here. As Filipinos, we should keep unfavorable points to ourselves and not discuss them publicly.

Am referring to points that could provide an opening to China to share our natural resources in Benham Rise or diminish our claim.

As Filipinos, we should always take positions in defense of our national interest and not provide legal ammunition to other potential claimants like China. The worst is to be quoted one day by China to justify its incursions in Benham Rise.
