Golez: North Korea, under the Kim dynasty, is a one goal country whose leader says "to heck with human development goals." Its goal: To develop a nuclear weapon that will threaten the world. It is a small country with an even smaller GDP. It's population is around 25 million or around 1/4 of the Philippine population; it's GDP is around $25 billion which is less than 10% of Philippine GDP. North Korea spends around 25% of its budget on weapons. That kind of a strategy can be likened to a poor man, bare subsistence, who can hardly provide the basic needs of his family, yet spends a lot of his money on a collection of guns and ammos in order to terrorize and bully his neighborhood. I do hope that the US and China can work together to rein in North Korea, make it a responsible member of the international community for the good of its people and for the good of mankind.
