US Navy ship USS Truxtun bound for Black Sea

SOUDA BAY, GREECE (US Navy/CNN) – A US guided missile destroyer is headed to the Black Sea.
The Navy released a statement saying the ship left a Greek port to conduct training operations with Romanian and Bulgarian forces.
According to the Navy, the exercises were already planned.
The release made no mention of the tensions in Ukraine, which is bordered by the Black Sea.
The Navy says the crew on the USS Truxtun will engage in "previously planned" training exercise with "allies and partners in the region."
